Floods and the Need for Food and Housing

Rwanda Children Educational Foundation helps during floods.
May is still the rainy season, and Rwanda has seen three more days of flooding so far this month. The heavy black clouds give way to torrential down pours, and the water streams down the many hills of Kigali to the flood the plains below where our families dwell.  Extremely poor families live in these flood zones because the rent is so inexpensive.

The government has ordered all families living in the lowlands to leave for their own safety.

The lack of affordable homes is a serious problem. Our families have a problem paying the rent of the homes that are currently available.  We help them find safer places to live by paying the first few months of rent.

RCEF is now considering how we can help even more.

Food Relief:
RCEF has made emergency food distributions in March, April, and again in May. This food helps our 121 families which consists of approximately 700 parents and children.

Covide 19 has slowed the Rwanda economy and the ability for our families to work and earn money.

Your generous donations make this possible, and we are grateful…thank you!
