RCEF Relief Aid at Work in Rwanda

Rwanda Children Educational Foundation provided Relief Aid to flood victims and to relieve hunger due to the Coronavirus stay-at-home order.

The Floods Return…
Kigali had major floods in December and February. Seventeen of our students’ families had damaged homes. Meteorologists forecasted heavy rains through May. Just last week three more of the RCEF families lost their homes to floods. RCEF is providing relief funds for the first three-month’s rent for these families to enable them to secure new places to live. Your donations make possible a new start for these families.

Hunger is on the Rise…
The coronavirus stay-at-home order has caused many challenges. Parents can leave their homes to purchase food and medicine, but not to work. This results in no income. RCEF has given out relief food to our 121 families in both March and April. We plan on doing the same in May and again in June.
Our families are grateful to our generous donors who make this delivery of food possible. They say thank you!
The above photos are of San Ritha’s mother standing in front of her new rental home, another mother standing by her destroyed home and a picture of what water can do to a home.

If you would like to donate to these special people, please click the donate button at the top of this webpage or send a check to RCEF, 1386 Meredith Center Road, Laconia, NH 03246.

Together we are making a difference!
