The Rotary Interact Club of Inter-Lakes High School presented a check to Alan Graustein, RCEF, to sponsor Samuel Mugabo for his Senior Year in high school.
The presentation happened at the year-end banquet for the Interact Club. This marked their 10th year anniversary.
Sponsorship covers boarding school fees, school uniforms, school supplies, health insurance, hygiene materials and pocket money. It also makes his parents eligible for a micro-loan to start a business.
Samuel comes from a very poor family with 9 siblings. His family sent him to live with relatives in Kigali to care for him and enable him to go to school.
Rwanda Children Education Foundation accepted him for its sponsorship program, and for five years the Inter-lakes Interact Club has donated the necessary funding. Below is a picture of Samuel in 2020 and the next picture was taken in 2025.
