Christmas in Rwanda was Different this Year!

Rwanda Children Educational Foundation gave out food to the families for Christmas.

Since 2013, RCEF has given our children a special Christmas celebration consisting of a banquet, presents, games and plenty of speeches.

As in the USA, Christmas in Rwanda was different this year. Because of Covid-19, we could not assemble for the traditional Christmas party. RCEF decided to give each child’s family a distribution of food to enjoy for Christmas dinner and beyond – included were maize flour, rice, beans, cooking oil and soap.

On December 23 and 24 the families came to the RCEF office in small groups to pick up their food.

Jeanine Mukarubega, RCEF Executive Director, addressed the families and encouraged them to continue working hard to improve their standard of living and most importantly she encouraged them to have faith in God as He will always make a way to help them. Jeanine asked the parents to encourage their children to study hard as they are the future of the country.

The families were very grateful to RCEF for the gifts of food and expressed an enthusiastic “thank you” to each person who made this possible. They left with happy faces.

RCEF remains grateful for you, our sponsors of these extremely poor children. A portion of your gift is used to purchase this Christmas food blessing.

A reminder: We have more children on our waiting list who are in need of a sponsor.
