RCEF goes to Texas A&M

On April 25th Rwanda Children Education Foundation leaders attended Final Review Presentations by third year students at the Texas A&M College of Architecture in College Station, Texas.

The students and their professors have been collaborating with Alan Graustein, RCEF Board Chair, Jeanine Mukarubega, RCEF Executive Director and our team of Rwandan consultants since January as they participated in a Studio Project to design a Mothers and Babies Maternity Facility to be constructed next to our Polyclinic in Rwanda.

We are grateful for all the good work done by the students. The professional support by the Texas A&M faculty along with input from a number of highly experienced graduates of the College of Architecture provides RCEF with a design portfolio to kickstart this vital project.

Deep appreciation goes out to Professor Emeritus, George Mann who introduced us to this opportunity. Additional thanks goes to Dr. Greg Luhan, Head Department of Architecture, for his willingness to take on our project. And, finally, we are indebted to Dr. Zhipeng Lu for his excellent leadership throughout the entire semester.

Professor Emeritus, George Mann

Staff receives a plague of appreciation, and the students receive a plague thanking them for their hard work.

Our RCEF leaders presented two plaques to convey our gratitude. One to the Texas A&M leadership team, and one to the students and professors who completed a most successful Studio Project.

It is our hope and prayer that this Maternity and Delivery Facility will soon be a reality and serve to save the precious lives of mothers and babies in Rwanda.
