The Rwanda Children Educational Foundation’s second sewing class ended in March 2020 just as
Covid-19 threatened Rwanda. The pandemic slowed down the progress of starting businesses, but
they are up and running now.
The Kigali Mont Jali Rotary Club has purchased sewing machines and other items for the graduates. What a wonderful blessing for our mothers.
This past week the President of the Rotary Club, Gerard Hendika, and other members came to inspect the progress. The mothers showed them what they have made for sale at their store: dresses, skirts, shirts, handbags, and many other items.
With the partnership between RCEF and the Rotary Club, these mothers are better prepared to feed and support their families.
The RCEF Sewing School is a six-month training program provided at no cost to the parents of RCEF students.
Sponsoring a child not only pays for the cost of education, school uniforms and health insurance. It helps each family with supplemental food, sewing school opportunities and qualifies some parents for a Micro-Credit Loan through the Rotary Global Grant.
