Following extreme flooding in 2019 and 2020 that resulted in the loss of living spaces for sixty-five of our families, RCEF began to develop a program for land purchase and construction of affordable rental space for the families of sponsored boys and girls.

These families would never be able to secure their own property without our help.

At present nearly eight acres have been purchased in Bugesera District, not far from the Capitol City of Kigali. Donations have been received to build six housing units in the first phase of construction, and site preparation is underway.

The projected cost of a two-bedroom unit is $13,000, and a three-bedroom unit is $15,500.
