Micro-Finance Sewing School has started.
RCEF Staff, a sewing instructor and ten mothers gathered together Monday morning, February 4th, in front of our new sewing school to cut the ribbon. This time the school is for Mothers instead for students!
The instructor will impart her knowledge to our “eager to learn” mothers over the next six months. These ladies are looking forward to this opportunity to earn money to support their families.
We purchased five peddle sewing machines and two fancy machines that are capable for complicated stitching. In addition we secured supplies, tables, chairs, and sewing material.
The school runs from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, 5 days a week (128 days in all).
Thank you for making this school possible. Your money will change the lives of these ten women and their families. The children will be watching this transformation and see that a brighter future is coming.
We have three mothers who walk several kilometers to attend this class. If they had money, they could pay for a motorbike ride. The cost is under one dollar each way.
To help one mother with transportation for the entire six month would be $230.
Would anyone like to help with this cost?
