In Rwanda the new school year started Monday, January 22nd.
Five of our Secondary Students came to the Kigali RCEF office to pick up their school fee vouchers and their “pocket money” for the first semester of the 2018.
Students in grades 7 – 12 go to boarding schools in Rwanda. They sleep, eat and study at their schools. Although school fees do include food, parents are expected to subsidize the food allotment. We give each student “pocket money” to purchase additional food as their parents simply do not have the money to help with this.
RCEF is sponsoring 121 students in school for 2018…..35 secondary students and 86 elementary students.
Our Kigali staff will continue to encourage our students to do their very best in school so they may make a difference in the community where they live.
